Several factors, including the reduction of geopolitical tensions and an increase in CME initial margin from $20,000 to $25,000 starting in March 2026 for silver derivative contracts, have influenced the prices of precious metals.

A decline in the US dollar index positively influenced the prices of gold and silver, as a weaker US dollar enhances the affordability of precious metals for foreign purchasers, allowing them to acquire the same quantity of gold at a reduced cost.
